Lakeside Elementary held a moving Veterans Day ceremony today as students, staff and community members gathered at the front of the school to pay tribute to those who have served. The Utah Military Academy led the proceedings, ceremonially raising the flag while students watched respectfully.
Under the direction of music teacher Mrs. Garlick, the student body then performed "God Bless the USA," filling the school grounds with gratitude and patriotic spirit. The performance highlighted the school’s commitment to teaching respect, community, and civic awareness.
Principal Lowry thanked veterans for their service and reminded students that the courage and sacrifice of those who serve inspire the entire Lakeside community. Faculty and organizers expressed appreciation for the Utah Military Academy’s participation and for the students’ thoughtful conduct throughout the event.
The school encouraged families to take time this weekend to reflect on the contributions of veterans and to thank service members both past and present. Lakeside Elementary plans to continue this tradition of remembrance in future years.
