BRIGHAM CITY, UT—The student council from Lakeside Elementary School recently returned from the USU Brigham City Student Council Conference, buzzing with new ideas and invaluable leadership skills. The day-long event featured inspiring presentations and networking opportunities for elementary and middle school leaders from Northern Utah districts.

Lakeside students benefited from sessions led by nationally recognized speakers, including the popular author and speaker John Bytheway and motivational speaker Meg Johnson. Other speakers at the event included Brad Barton and Ryan Radebaugh, who provide leadership training tailored for young students.

"The students learned powerful lessons about teamwork, service, and being positive role models," said a school representative. Beyond the main speakers, the conference facilitated connections between Lakeside’s council members and their counterparts from other schools. This interaction allowed the young leaders to share successful project ideas and build a broader network of student governance peers, further enhancing their readiness to implement new initiatives back at Lakeside Elementary.
