Students dish pie for Pie Day, 3.14.

Mrs. Barlow's Class had a delicious day of learning!

Our class dove into the wonderful world of π (Pi) with hands-on activities that were equal parts educational and tasty! Here's what we explored:

📊 What We Did:

Pi Activities — Discovering the magic behind this famous number!

Creating Pi — Getting hands-on with calculations and explorations

Finding Why We Need Pi — Uncovering the real-world importance of π in circles and beyond

Measuring Circles — Using actual circles to find:

  • 📐 Diameter (the distance straight across)

  • 🔄 Circumference (the distance around)

  • 🎯 Radius (the distance from center to edge)

Celebrating with Pie! 🍰🥧🍪 — Because what's Pi Day without actual pie?

💝 Special Thanks:

A HUGE Thank You to our amazing parent volunteers! Your support made this celebration possible and helped bring mathematics to life for our students. We couldn't have done it without you! 🙌

🎓 The Takeaway:

Our students discovered that pi (π ≈ 3.14159...) is the special ratio that connects a circle's circumference to its diameter — and that makes it pretty special indeed!

Happy Pi Day! 🥧✨
