Complete this form only if there are significant special circumstances you feel need to be considered for your child.
Include only one student on each form.
Many factors are taken into consideration when making class assignments: class dynamics, gender ratio, academic needs, student behavior, second language learners, special education, other services provided, teacher input, and significant parent concerns.
It is important for each student to have equal access to school resources. The school, as a public system, must be concerned with equity for all students and teachers. We make a tremendous effort to balance two often conflicting concerns – individual need vs. equity for all.
Please understand that we have a large school. While all "requests are considered", not all will be possible to fulfill.
Keep in mind that every year there are many changes within the school. Some teachers may leave our school, some will change grade level or assignment, etc. It may be more appropriate to describe your concern rather than mention specific individuals.
Teachers have a major role in placement decisions. Expect that the information you share will be shared with teachers.
