Excitement filled the air at Lakeside Elementary as the kindergarteners gathered at the House Wheel, their eyes wide with anticipation. For an entire week, the school’s youngest learners had been diving into the traditions of the school's House System. They had practiced the spirited house cheers, learned the distinctive colors, and discovered the core values each house represents:
- Amistad – The House of Friendship (Red)
- Altruismo – The House of Givers (Black)
- Isibindi – The House of Courage (Green)
- Reveur – The House of Dreamers (Blue)
Today was the big moment: Selection Day. A giant, colorful wheel stood at the center of the school, ready to reveal which house family would welcome each kindergartener. Every time the wheel was spun, House Leaders cheered for their new members and welcomed them smiles!
By the end of the event, every kindergartener had spun the wheel, discovered their new house family, and slipped on their bright new t-shirts. Clutching their shirts, the students bounced back to classrooms, already looking forward to wearing them for their very first official House Meeting next month.
